How To Cure Yeast Infection in a Toddler

Believe it or not (and many people don't) but yeast infections occur very often in toddlers. They often manifest themselves in the form of oral thrush and daiper rashes which is my many parents misdiagnose the problem. It can be extremely irritating for the child and often results in excessive itching, burning and sometimes even pain in the effected areas. We've all heard the screams of a crying baby and believe me, a crying baby with a yeast infection is something you don't want to hear too often.

Often times it is the antibiotics taken that cause the yeast infection in the toddler. The reason for this is that the antibiotics kill the useful bacteria designed to fight off infection. The toddler does not have a strong enough immune system to then keep the infection at bay. Often times mothers (and yes, fathers too) can transfer the disease to their child unknowingly.

The good news is that there is a way to solve this infection WITHOUT the use of costly medications or force feeding your child unecessary medications. Read all about our top rated treatment for removing yeast infection in toddlers

If you are like me you don't like to use unecessary medications on your children which is why I like natural remedies if at all possible. Of course though if problems persist or if this is an extreme case it is advisable to see the advice of a doctor.

With that in mind you can use a few of these quick tips to ease the childs yeast infection while awaiting proper treatment:
  • Keep the daiper area clean. This can often get dirty on children so it is important to keep the area clean
  • A tub full of warm water with vinegar can be used for bathing a toddler.
  • Over the counter antifungal creams also can be used by parents. These are known to show positive effects within a few days and are helpful in cuing yeast infection in toddlers.
It is also possible to cure yeast infection in a toddler by making certain modifications to the child’s diet. Plain or homemade yogurt is very effective in fighting yeast and prevents its growth. Grapefruit seed extract and garlic can be mixed with food and given to the child. This can cure the infection. Apart from these dietary modifications, prescription drugs are very effective in curing the infection within a few days.

However as stated I don't really like to use unecessary medications.
